sweetgreen is a destination for simple, seasonal, healthy food. We believe the choices we make every day about what we eat, where it comes from, and how it’s made have a lasting impact on our communities. Our mission is to be a catalyst for building healthier communities, starting with how they think about food. We’ve worked hard to build a company with passion and purpose – and we’re just getting started.
The sweetlife festival was a music festival that brought to life sweetgreen’s mission to merge passion and purpose. From 2010 to 2016, our festivals brought together outstanding musical acts and the best in food and community – including chef collaborations, art installations, play areas and more. In 2017, we’re localizing the sweetlife, and bringing the essence of the festival — food, music and community — to more intimate experiences in each of our markets, like dinners, block parties and sweetlife sessions.
Since we opened the very first sweetgreen in 2007, music has been a core component of sweetgreen’s culture. The idea for the sweetlife festival began as a small, local block party. In 2010, with the opening of our second location in Dupont Circle (Washington, D.C.), when we invited a handful of local, indie bands to perform in the parking lot. What started as a 500-person gathering has blossomed into one of the region’s largest and most anticipated music and food festivals, a two-stage event with over 23,000 attendees in one of the most famous amphitheaters in the country. This year, we’ll take that energy and make it more intimate, with block parties and other music experiences in the communities where we have locations.
We’ll announce these experiences as they happen — stay tuned for more, and sign up for our email list and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
