sweetgreen is a destination for simple, seasonal, healthy food. We believe the choices we make every day about what we eat, where it comes from, and how it’s made have a lasting impact on our communities. Our mission is to be a catalyst for building healthier communities, starting with how they think about food. We’ve worked hard to build a company with passion and purpose – and we’re just getting started.
What is the sweetlife festival?
The sweetlife festival brings to life sweetgreen’s mission to merge passion with purpose. It’s an event that brings together outstanding musical acts and curates the best in food and community – including chef collaborations, art installations, play areas and more – for a true taste of the sweetlife.
Why does sweetgreen produce a music festival?
Since we opened the very first sweetgreen in 2007, music has been a core component of sweetgreen’s culture. The idea for the sweetlife festival began as a small, local event. In 2010, with the opening of our second location in Dupont Circle (Washington, D.C.), when we invited a handful of local, indie bands to perform in the parking lot. What started as a 500-person gathering has blossomed into one of the region’s largest and most anticipated music and food festivals, a two-stage event with over 23,000 attendees in one of the most famous amphitheaters in the country.Proceeds from sweetlife support “sweetgreen in schools,” an educational program we created to introduce kids to the benefits of healthy eating and nutrition. Our program is organized as a series of wellness workshops, involving more than 3,500 students each year.
